OPTIWAVE Radar level transmitters awarded Class NK Marine TA certificate
KROHNE Marine has received a new Class NK Marine Type Approval certificate. Issued by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, it approves the continued use of OPTIWAVE Radar level transmitters in marine applications. This TA certificate applies to marine versions OPTIWAVE-M 7400 C and OPTIWAVE-M 7500 C, as well as to standard versions OPTIWAVE 7400 C and OPTIWAVE 7500 C.
“For our customers in East Asia, the approval ensures that our level transmitters have official validation that international technical, regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements have been met,” said Ralf Dopieralla, Global Sales Manager for KROHNE Marine. “This is especially important because these instruments are designed to measure cargo levels of liquids and solids in the harshest conditions. Without proof, the ship owners or management company risk being rejected or unable to sail or dock at specific ports and waterways.”
“The importance of certification for the current industry's sustainability challenges goes beyond simply adding more red tape: class certification guarantees crew safety and dependability in addition to reassuring stakeholders,” he added. “Our customer-first mindset and our growing portfolio of marine products, solutions and services is how KROHNE Marine contributes to make shipping safer and better for the planet.”
Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, known as ClassNK or NK, is a ship classification society based in Tokyo, Japan. The society is actively engaged in a growing range of ship-related activities and services aimed at contributing to promoting the protection of human life and property at sea as well as protection of the marine environment.
