SONARtrac VF/GVF-100
Passive sonar volumetric flow and entrained air measurement system for minerals processing applications
- Accurate and reliable operation over a wide range of corrosive and abrasive mining slurries, e.g. in hydrocylone feedlines, thickener underflows, etc.
- Entrained air measurement enables correction of errors in density meters caused by bubbly flows, resulting in tighter mass balance
- Non-invasive, wrapped-around sensor design: low installation, maintenance and lifecycle costs
- Improved process efficiency and uptime, with reduced operational expenses
Overview
The SONARtrac VF/GVF-100 is a volumetric flow and entrained gas monitoring system, particularly effective in mining and minerals processing applications. The clamp-on system enables real-time, online measurement in hydrocyclone feed lines, thickener underflows, and other demanding processes. Its passive sonar, non-contact technology provides dual measurement of volumetric flow and gas void fraction (GVF) in slurries and liquids. The combination enables phase fraction management, leading to significant improvements in process efficiency and operational performance. This also allows the system to compensate for the amount of entrained air in the process line to correct measurement errors in density meters, resulting in a more accurate mass balance. Both flow rate and entrained air/gas content are available as meter outputs. KROHNE Australia is the only authorised sales and service partner of CiDRA Sonartrac in Australia and New Zealand.
