Vortex flowmeter with one process connection for SIL 3 applications.
Modern flowmeters are generally equipped with SIL 2/3 approval. This means that they meet the structural constraint of SIL 2 on a single channel basis, and can be used redundantly in a SIL 3 application. However, a redundant design always means that there are four instead of only two flange connections, as well ass significantly greater overall length that has to be planned.
For flow measurement with a vortex device, there is now a much simpler solution for SIL 3 applications: With the OPTISWIRL 4200 Dual, a redundant flowmeter with only two flange connections, is available that can even be programmed separately for two different media in multiproducts.
