Undifferentiated colors and forms make reference to the Utopian idea of unity, a dream that is as old as mankind itselfAlmost elusive, the watercolors distance themselves from the duality of spirit and matter. They offer themselves as a vehicle to explore without any hierarchy. A change of conditions or a seamless drift between this world and the world beyond, neither are presented as quality judgments, there are no traces of better or worse.
No attempt is made to see painting as a moral statement. Displaced but never lost Fujio Akai commits himself to painting images. Undifferentiated colors and forms make reference to the Utopian idea of unity, a dream that is as old as mankind itself. For himself Fujio Akai realizes this dream by living it.
