PROFIFLUX provides precise chemical dosing for paper industry

Precise dosing of chemical additive solutions and advanced resistance to abrasion and reaction is provided by KROHNE's PROFIFLUX IFS 5000, the world's most accurate electromagnetic flowmeter.
Designed with a high density fused aluminium oxide ceramic flow tube and platinum electrodes, the PROFIFLUX IFS 5000 guarantees outstanding chemical, abrasive and pressure resistance as well as long term stability even under severe pressure variations.
The superior chemical resistance of KROHNE's ceramic meters is demonstrated by the fact that a major German supplier of fabricated products has been using the same tube for dosing Hydroflouric acid (50%) for over 14 years.
KROHNE's set new standards of accuracy for electromagnetic flowmeters with the development of PROFIFLUX IFS 5000. Its special flow sensor design streamlines the flow profile in applications where pulsating flows causes a-symmetric distortions, and the high density tube and proven accuracy of the PROFIFLUX make it a favourite solution for chemical dosing in a variety of industries.
In water and sewage applications the flowmeter is used for carrying out precise dosing of additive solutions such as chlorine dioxide for disinfecting potable water, and iron-chloride or aluminium sulphate for flocculation. An Austrian paper mill recently refurbished its wastewater treatment facility, and is now using PROFIFUX in a variety of diameters to combat the problems of aggresive chemcials in the wastewater, in preference to conventional meters lined with PFA or PTFE. German paper mills are also making wide use of the meter for the dosing of dyes and bleaches as well as for neutralising agents such as hydrochloric acid and caustic.
PROFIFLUX IFS 5000 is specified in the chemical and aluminium industry due to its capabilities of measuring the flow of high-duty chemicals such as concentrated hydrofluoric acid and Nitric Acid. It is also suitable for cleaning in place (CIP) applications, for example, the dosing of Phosphoric or citric acid in the food and beverage industry.
