Oil & Gas Measurement with OPTIMASS

KROHNE's Coriolis mass flowmeters are already in use in various oil applications across the globe.

Some of the world's most viscous crude oil flowing from China's Liaohe oil field is being measured using a straight tube Coriolis meter. The poor fluidity of the oil causes problems when measuring its mass flow rate due to frequent blockages encountered on devices such as PD or turbine meters.

By using a non-intrusive Coriolis single straight tube these flow problems are overcome as there are no moving parts inside to interfere with flow. The meters have also proved they can maintain high accuracy and repeatability even at very low flow rates.
