An energy company from Switzerland supplies a shopping centre in the Mittelland region with district heating. Hot water from the waste burning facility is fed into a pipeline, which covers the distance to the shopping centre. This is where the measurements of district heating use for the stores are taken.
To measure the exact quantity of heating use, the energy company needed a reliable device, which could communicate various measurements to the control system simultaneously.
That's why they are using the OPTIFLUX 4010C electro-magnetic flowmeter from KROHNE together with an energy processor and a KROHNE PT100 4-wire temperature sensor. The OPTIFLUX gives reliable measurements of the flow volume per hour.
