Problem
The different products have to be reliably mixed, which requires knowing exactly what the level in the bins is. If not known, production has to be interrupted. Particularly during filling operations, ultrasonic level measuring devices frequently failed due to dust formation.


Solution
Thanks to OPTIFLEX, the user now has a reliable measuring device and can let production proceed on a fully automatic basis and without interruption. "La carrière des Grands Caous" in St. Raphaël is using four OPTIFLEX devices with a single cable (8 mm) for measuring the level of four products worked from a quarry.

This includes sand with grain sizes up to 4 mm, and gravel sized 2-6 mm, 6-10 mm und 10-14 mm. Each of these products is stored in separate bins fitted with the radar level gauges. The cables are 8 m long and have 12 x 100 mm counterweights at their end.
