Measurements in an oxalic acid production plant

BorsodChem MCHZ, s.r.o., a daughter company of the BorsodChem Rt.,  is the worlds´ greatest producer of cyclohexylamine and an important European producer of amines, nitric and oxalic acids and urea-formaldehyde resins.

This company belongs to the top KROHNE customers in the Czech Republic.

The oxalic acid production plant was reconstructed in 2003. General contractor Siemens Industrial Services a.s. (a member of the Siemens Group) chose KROHNE as the level and flow meters supplier for this contract. Such aggressive chemicals as oxalic and concentrated nitric acids are measured here.

We offered KROHNE level radars BM 70A and BM 700 (nitric acid level measurement in process and storage tanks), level switches LS 5000 (nitric acid level switching), level indicators LT 100 and  BM 26 A/RR/ER (salt brine level measurement), variable area flowmeters H250 (nitrogen flowrate), magnetic inductive flowmeters IFM 4042 K and IFM 4080K (with tantalum electrodes - nitric acid measurement) and flow indicators DW 182.
