Lime water measurement

Dosing of lime and water with CORIMASS G+

An important Czech producer of titanium white purchases lime. In a process tank with agitator it is mixed with water to form a suspension of the prescribed concentration. The customer intended to use a nucleonic density meter to measure the density of this suspension. KROHNE suggested a mass flowmeter CORIMASS MFM 4085 300G+ with straight measuring tube here.

The mass flowmeter is installed in a by-pass, the lime suspension with flowrate of approx. 60 kg/min then comes back to the tank. The signal output 4-20 mA is used in the control system to dose lime and water to the tank. KROHNE delivered not only 2 mass flowmeters here, but also 2 pieces of pipline before and after the flowmeter. The pipeline was specially chosen to reduce the abrasion of the inlet edge of the flowmeter. What a re the main advantages of such a solution for the customer:

	no nucleonic density meters, no special care and safety demands, no special personal training
	simple process automation with no maintenance and calibration costs
	purchase and maintenance cost reduction.
