KROHNE Skarpenord secured a large order from SLS in November for CARGOMASTER® systems on a series of chemical tankers. The tanker design is new, and has an improved EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index) compared to existing designs. The ships are 45.000 dwt, and are being built for United Arab Chemical Carriers (UACC). UACC is majorly owned by United Arab Shipping Company (UASC).
UACC has 9 ships in their fleet, all similar sized tankers. The tankers carry chemicals and products in Middle East and Far East Asia. The new ships will join the fleet from 2011.
The integrated CARGOMASTER® system designed by our engineers includes all tanks and cargo lines onboard. The CARGOMASTER® system will be main station for monitoring and alarm in CCR, and also integrated to the cargo automation system delivered by L3 Lyngsoe.

This contract is the first for KROHNE Skarpenord in SLS Shipbuilding. SLS is known for their quality and are mainly focusing on chemical tankers. They are normally building longer series of tankers in sizes from 20-45.000 dwt. The order is significant in the Korean Market, and we are looking forward to developing a good working relationship with SLS Shipbuilding.
