KROHNE Skarpenords R&D Manager, Nils-Olav Skeie, awarded with PhD degree (October 2008)     We are very proud to announce that in October KROHNE Skarpenords R&D Manager, Nils-Olav Skeie, was awarded with a PhD degree.     His thesis deals with different measuring methods for estimating of oil/water interface. The thesis is called “Soft sensors for Level Estimation”.

      
The findings of his thesis points out the advantages of combining measurements from different sensors to estimate one or more parameters that is not possible, difficult or expensive to measure directly. This is called “Multi Sensor Data Fusion”. The method he has developed is more effective than comparable methods. Skeie has developed mathematical models for sensors to give high precision measurements.
