IMO and green house gases (GHG)

IMO is presently working to implement new rules and regulations for reducing emissions of GHG from shipping. There is a huge potential to reduce fuel consumption and emissions from the world fleet. However, to be able to save fuel, you need first of all to have correct continous information of your consumption.

Benchmarking your fleet

By benchmarking consumption between your ships, fuel reduction will be on every captain's agenda. Benchmarking may also be the future for charterers in choosing shipping companies and for authorities regarding possible  taxation of emissions. The EcoMATE® is designed to fulfill requirements coming later from IMO or other authorities.

Small variations in engine speed, pitch and direction will make noticable reduction in the ships fuel consumption. By following the momentary consumption, you will be able to maintain performance, burning less HFO or diesel.

Based on our high quality straight tube flow meters, the EcoMATE® will indicate accurate readings of fuel consumption. The logger function is tamper free, so that the system is made ready for being basis in reporting to authorities and shore offices.
