KROHNE OPTIFLUX with ceramics is used as standard at BASF

OPTIFLUX 5300

The largest chemical company in the world, BASF, has adopted the OPTIFLUX 5300 electromagnetic flowmeter as standard.  The OPTIFLUX 4300 had previously passed a type test and been integrated to the standard, and BASF has now also transferred the results to the versions with ceramic measuring tube linings.

This means that the OPTIFLUX 5300 is part of the worldwide framework contract, making KROHNE an official global supplier of flow and level measuring equipment to BASF.

The flanged version of the OPTIFLUX 5300 from KROHNE is also available with the new high performance ceramics for small nominal diameters from DN 15 to DN 100. The flanges protect the ceramic lining of the OPTIFLUX from damage, particularly during installation. The flanged version also offers the customer increased protection against leakage of the process medium in case of fire. KROHNE has drastically reduced the number of parts that come into contact with the process medium. Apart from the ceramics, only the seals and the electrodes now make contact.

Electro-magnetic flowmeters with ceramic lining are mainly used where highly precise measurements of chemically aggressive or abrasive process media are required.  The ceramic measuring pipe is independently mounted and does not come into direct contact with the pipeline flanges.

The flange connections for smaller nominal diameters from KROHNE have extended the range of solutions for all chemical applications.
