KROHNE Variable Area flowmeter H 250 - pulsating osmotic water measurement

Damping offers protection from mechanical wear

The customer intended to measure osmotic water with very low conductivity (approx. 0,5 ?S/cm), pressure 0,6 - 2 MPa and the flowrate 30 and 60 m3/h. They also wanted to have an analogue output.

KROHNE offered all-metal variable area flowmeter H 250 with electrical signal output ESK. The output signal is used in the central control system. Due to pulsating flow in the pipeline with frequency approx. 1 Hz, caused by regulating fittings, we had to use a float damping device, normally used only for gas measurements.

In comparison with our competition, being able to offer only indicator damping, our damping device prevented from mechanical wear of the float guide, caused by pulsations.


All 6 flowmeters have been used for 4 years and the customer is much satisfied with this solution.
