H250 M40 – Intelligent modularityThe new standard in variable area technology

Since its foundation in 1921, KROHNE has led the field in variable area measurement technology and is once again setting new standards with the new H250 M40 variable area flowmeter: The device features a complete modular design, enabling it to be individually configured for virtually any requirement. From pure analogue use without auxiliary power to integration into a fieldbus system, whether it's intrinsically safe or in an explosion-proof enclosure, vertical, horizontal or even installed in a fall pipe – H250 M40 variable area flowmeters cover the entire spectrum of requirements in the process industry.
The H250 M40 flowmeters, based on the variable area principle, are very versatile and can be used for gases as well as conducting and non-conducting liquids. The sturdy all-metal version ensures high resistance to pressure, temperature and product and can withstand extreme usage and ambient conditions. This makes them a cost-effective and reliable standard solution for the process industry. The devices have a modular, scalable design, right from the purely mechanical display down to the electrical signal outputs. The H250 is available in nominal sizes DN15 - DN100 in various materials and connection variants.
Typically, variable area flowmeters are installed upright in rising mains and the product must flow through them from bottom to top. This can lead to considerable expense. The H250 M40 on the other hand offers every freedom in terms of layout as there are special versions of the device that can be used for horizontal and even fall pipes.
All electronic components are designed to be intrinsically safe and non-sparking and can be used in gas and dust explosive areas. Optionally, the same components – with a safety lid – can be installed as devices in explosion-proof enclosures. In this way, a single device can even comply with different regional explosion protection strategies. All H250 M40 variants offer category IP66/IP67 protection.
