Application
FH Mannheim installed OPTIMASS 3000, AQUAFLUX, H250 RR M9 ESK-EEx and DK800 R K1 in its distillation plant.

Problem
FH Mannheim built a distillation plant for teaching and studying purposes with the necessary devices for measuring the flow of liquids and gases. Distillation plants are used for thermal separation of mixtures of liquids. The liquids have to have different boiling points.

The mixture is heated in order to vaporize, distil and condensate one element after the other. The vaporized part of the mixture of liquids contains the elements with a lower boiling point, the rest those with a higher boiling point.

Solution
OPTIMASS 3000 is used for measuring different media after condensation. AQUAFLUX measures the flow of cooling water. H250 measures nitrogen and superheated steam. DK800 is also installed for the measurement of nitrogen. The interior of the devices and the environment of the plant are Ex-areas, zone 1.
