Stone hopper measurement with BM 70The use of BM 70 A to measure the fill-height in a 3m high hopper in limestone quarry
The rocks up to 0.3 cubic metres each, are brought to a conveyor belt which transports them to the hopper. The level measurement prevents overfilling by stopping the conveyor.
The customer had tried ultrasonic measurement from a well-known German company and a local company, but both companies capitulated saying that the level changed too quickly and was impossible to measure.
A BM 70 A with No. 4 antenna was put on test. After some initial problems, the experts in Duisburg were contacted , the measuring window increased from 0.3 to 3 metres, and the level gauge has worked perfectly ever since.
The customer purchased the BM 70 A after the 4-week trial period.
