BM 500 liquid level meter at Kühne

Carl Kühne KG (GmbH & Co.) relies on KROHNE?s BM 500 for potentiometric liquid-level measurement in its mustard production. Kühne ranks among Germany?s leading producers of vinegar, mustard, salad dressing, and ketchups.

Mustard seed is first ground in the mustard mill, after which it flows downward through a funnel to an intermediate storage tank before further processing.

The fill height in the tank is relatively low, and the ground mustard tends to stick to the sensor probe. Vibration level switches, capacitive switches, and pressure gauges do not function in this application. Despite deposits of mustard and the low fill level, potentiometric liquid-level measuring with the BM 500 is reliable and accurate. BM 500 is a completely hygienic meter, certified by the EHEDG and 3A. 

Liquid level, pressure, and temperature
In addition to the BM 500 for continuous liquid-level measurement, KROHNE also offers its OPTISWITCH line of two-wire level switches for liquids and solids. They can be ordered with probes featuring various materials, lengths, and coatings. The LS 6200 and 6300 electromagnetic level switches round off the range of level-gauging products. KROHNE also offers meters to monitor pressure and temperature.
