Granulated urea measurement.BorsodChem MCHZ is using KROHNE TDR level meter BM 100A.
The customer has been using KROHNE TDR level meter BM 100A for approx. 1 year. A probe type E (monocable) 10 m long is installed here. For the reasons of environment protection the customer prefers granulated urea, transported by railway, to liquid urea, the transport of which may represent a danger to the environment, although this railway granulate transport means higher input costs. This fact is the evidence of the company´s active approach to the environment protection. The granulate is transported with a bucket elevator and falls to the tank from the top.
The BorsodChem MCHZ, Ltd. (Ostrava, Czech Republic), a member of the BorsodChem Group, is the worlds´ greatest producer of cyclohexylamine and an important European producer of amines, particularly aniline. Top products include also nitric acid, oxalic acid, formaldehyde, nitrobenzene, urea-formaldehyde resins (commercial name „Dukol“) and technical gases.
First KROHNE variable area flowmeters were installed in this plant more than 20 years ago and some of them have still been in use. At present the BorsodChem MCHZ company is one of KROHNE CZ key customers. Several dozens of various KROHNE instruments are used here to monitor and control production processes. All-metal variable area flowmeters measure the flowrate of amines, condensate, benzene, aniline, nitrogene, hydrogene, etc. Proven KROHNE magnetic-inductive flowmeters ALTOFLUX IFM 4080 are installed here to measure various corrosive liquids, such as nitric and sulphuric acids.
Most important KROHNE CZ orders in BorsodChem MCHZ include level measurement in the combustibles storage (16 pcs of KROHNE level radar BM 70 and BM 700), in the aniline production line (9 pcs of BM 70A) and in the caustic agents storage (10 pcs of KROHNE 2 wire level radar BM 702). The customer also purchased KROHNE TDR level meters BM 102 (measurement of amines) and BM 100A (measurement of granulated urea). Proven and reliable KROHNE level indicators BM 26 are used to measure level of condensate and demineralized water.
