At ACHEMA, KROHNE will present an SIL-compliant version (SIL: Safety Integrity Level) of its H 250 variable area flowmeter, which has been used successfully for years.

The H 250 with limit switches has long been standard in the process industry. It is now the world?s first variable area flowmeter to meet SIL 2 requirements on the basis of the EN 61508 and EN 61511 standards for operational safety. With SIL certification, the H 250 flowmeter is supplied together with the M 9 indicator and limit switches.

The flowmeter functionality needs to be tested only every ten years by undergoing a proof test. This is the maximum possible test interval, and it demonstrates the high quality of KROHNE variable area flowmeters. The H 250 is used in a number of industrial applications, including chemicals, petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals.
